| Introduction
The best practices and design guidelines are tools
to assist the designers and users in realising universal
accessibility. The guidelines are an extension of the design
considerations in Section 5. Best practices and examples
are illustrated for each subject. The intention is not to
cover every aspect of design details on a particular subject.
The designer should refer to relevant Ordinances, Design
Manuals and Standards for compliance with statutory and
other requirements.
The best practices highlight generic issues and list the
major areas for continual improvement on universal accessibility.
Best practices, practical solutions and options to achieve
the objectives for future projects and facilities are documented.
Designer for specific project can always design for a more
accessible environment with reference to the guidelines.
