ArchSD recognises the importance of cultivating a highly skilled workforce capable of serving our clients and the community effectively. We are also committed to having our people keep pace with technological advancements in construction through our substantial investment in employee training and development, which will equip them with the skills needed to build facilities that will benefit the community for generations to come.

Our People

At ArchSD, we are dedicated to making each employee’s time with us a rewarding and fulfilling part of their career journey. Our aim is to enable our staff to reach their full potential in terms of their professional and personal growth.

New staff are selected following the principles of open and fair competition and merit-based hiring. We also follow the Government’s practice of non-discrimination in terms of disability, sex, marital status, pregnancy, age, family status, sexual orientation and race.

Staff Development and Knowledge Sharing

ArchSD recognises the importance of developing a skilled and proficient workforce for delivering exceptional service to our clients and the broader community. This is especially critical in the ever-evolving landscape of the architecture and construction industry.

In 2022 we continued to keep our staff abreast of the latest advances in construction technologies, such as DfMA, MiC, MiMEP and BIM to ensure our employees remain agile and adaptable in the industry.

Training programmes are tailored to the unique needs of each staff member through a diverse array of platforms and formats. These include academic lectures, structured classroom training, workshops and seminars, symposiums, overseas visits, on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring sessions, e-learning modules, and competitions.

We also upload consolidated knowledge papers to the ArchSD Knowledge Hubs for knowledge sharing.

During the reporting year, ArchSD provided 595 training courses, totalling 51 826 hours. Each staff member received an average of 27 hours of training.

Staff Wellbeing

We promote an enriching work environment, where work-life balance and the well-being of our staff are emphasised. We also encourage a harmonious work environment in which teamwork and mutual support among colleagues are valued, both professionally and personally.

As a means of building team spirit and morale, our staff association organises a broad spectrum of sports and recreational activities, including table tennis, football, dragon boat racing and hiking. These activities contribute to a vibrant and healthy work atmosphere, reinforcing our commitment to the welfare and unity of our ArchSD family.
