Restoration and Preservation of King Law Ka Shuk

Description

History
The building was originally constructed in early 1700´s to commemorate their ancestor, TANG King Law(c.1600-1650).

The Brief
The project was to repair and restore King Law Ka Shuk Study Hall in rural Hong Kong, to match as closely as practical its 1851 condition. Particular care was to be taken with the restoration of a beautiful 1932 alter that was the centre piece of the building, both artistically as well as historically. The client also requested that electrical services be upgraded to suit modern requirements for village community centre. Contribution to Community Since the magnificiant opening ceremony, much interest has been shown in the building with visits from Tang members from all districts of Hong Kong
