It has been the objective of our Department to encourage our contractors to keep vigil with the environmental aspects of their construction works. Since 2001, the Department had conducted a Green Contractor Award Scheme in which the contractors were able to demonstrate their environmental performance on construction sites with an aim to achieve continual improvement environmentally leading to remarkable standards ultimately. It was the tenth year in 2010 that the Scheme had been carried out and all ArchSD projects under construction in this year including maintenance projects with contract sums over $21 millions participated in the competition. Only those contractors whose contracts had attained the highest scores in environmental performance were selected for the Award.
