An Architect’s mission is to design the form and internal layouts of property in order to create ideal living space for people.

In a building, Architects design the forms, spaces, layouts, functions, and all details to meet user’s requirements. They also ensure the settings of the building blend in well with its environment and it complies with all relevant building regulations. Special attention is also paid to the environmental protection and safety aspects. The whole design process requires knowledge on aesthetics, engineering, management, and law. With the facilitation of computer software, which can produce 3-D modeling and animations, the design process has been made much easier nowadays.

What are the essential characters and qualities required for an Architect?

An Architect should be able to translate his ideas to reality. The ability to draw is definitely an advantage. To improve people’s lives by architecture, Architects should have curiosity and good understanding of the environments and cultures. Creativity, sense of space, and sensitivity to colours are also important attributes for an architect to produce quality designs.

Career Path

- obtain a recognised degree in Architecture, or equivalent;
- fulfill the professional training requirements; and
- successfully complete the professional assessment.
