Reporting Objectives

Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (the Government of the HKSAR) is always at the forefront in pursuing a better living environment for our citizens. This year, our 17th annual sustainability report, 'Sustaining Innovation in Challenging Times', continues to present our initiatives and performance on economic, environmental and social aspects in 2019.

While demonstrating our achievement in the reporting year, this report also highlights our commitment to serving better in the future with continuous efforts and improvement in sustainability.

In July 2020, a new functional branch was established, which will be covered in the next Sustainability Report.

Reporting Principles

The Report has been prepared in accordance with the GRI Standards: Core option, the Environmental Protection Department's ' A Guide to Environmental Reporting for Controlling Officers' and the Director of Information Services' memo dated 20 October 2016 – 'Guidelines on preparation of annual departmental reports'.
