ArchSD is committed to serving the community with dedication and heart. Despite different challenges, including ever-changing urban needs, social instability, health cirsis, and climate change, we attach firmly to our visions to enrich the living environment of the community through our professionalisms and deployment of innovative designs and features. We keep our staff abreast of the latest industry trends and innovative technologies, ensuring they are of competency to develop climate resilience in our buildings and facilities. In 2019, we were honoured to receive a number of awards and achievements in recognition of our efforts from the following professional bodies, institutions and award organisers.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards 2019 Hong Kong

With well-recognised global standards and reliable database, the annual RICS Awards Hong Kong is regarded as one of the premier built environment awards in the Asia-Pacific region. It aims to provide a foundation for a confident market and drive positive social impact. The Awards showcases the outstanding achievements and developments of industry professionals, who created better spaces to live and helped to build resilient communities. The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) Annual Awards 2018/19

The Red Dot Award is an international design competition which aims to appraise the designers for the best products and innovations created every year. During the year, we were honoured to receive the Red Dot Award for the project 'Beautification Works for Austin Road Subway'.

Good Design Award 2019

Since 1957, the Japan Institute for Design Promotion has founded the Good Design Award with an aim to recognise outstanding designs that promote social progress and live enrichment. In 2019, we received the following awards:

CIBSE HK Awards 2019

The Awards is a new and unique industry award that focuses on actual, measurable performance outcomes in the build environment. The Awards aims to drive organisations to collaborate and deliver cost-effective solutions from design to installation, with goals to improve efficiency, quality, safety and cost reduction. In 2019, we were conferred the following awards:

Green Building Award 2019

The Green Building Award aims to recognise building-related projects and organisations that have outstanding performance and contributions in sustainable development and built environment, as well as to promote a wider adoption of sustainability planning, design, construction, management, operation, maintenance, renovation and decommissioning of buildings in the mainstream market. We were honoured to receive a number of recognitions for the following architectural projects:

Autodesk Hong Kong Building Information Modelling (BIM) Awards 2019

The Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards recognise the outstanding project teams that have adopted BIM technology in building projects and helped to drive the transformation of the building industry for higher efficiency and sustainability. In 2019, our 'Lung Tsun Stone Bridge Preservation Corridor at Kai Tak' project was honoured to receive the Honorable Mention of Hong Kong BIM Awards 2019.

CIC Construction Innovation Award 2019

CIC Construction Innovation Award is a biennial award organised by Construction Industry Council (CIC). It aims to spearhead the development, promotion and implementation of new building materials, methods and technologies to enhance the competitiveness of the construction industry. Our project 'Disciplined Services Quarters for the Fire Services Department at Pak Shing Kok, TKO' was granted the Grand Prize in 2019.

Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD) Urban Design Awards 2019

The HKIUD Urban Design Awards are held every year to recognise projects for their excellent performance and outstanding contribution in Urban Design. In 2019, the following projects were granted the Awards:

'Study on Design of Children Play Space'

'InPark - Tsun Yip Street Playground'

Asian Townscape Awards 2019

Hosted by the UN-Habitat Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, in cooperation with Fukuoka Asian Urban Research Center, Asian Habitat Society, Asia Townscape Design Society, the Asian Townscape Awards aims to honour cities, regions, and projects that facilitate and materialise enhancement of living environment through urban transformation in Asian cities. In 2019, our 'Fly the Flyover 02 and 03' won this Award.

Building Surveyor Awards 2019

The Building Surveyor Awards is launched by the Building Surveying Division of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (BSD HKIS) to grant recognition to preeminent projects with significant contributions to Building Surveyors in the public and private sectors. Our achievements in 2019 are as follows:

Beijing Exposition 2019

Attached to the theme of 'Hong Kong – The City of Contrast', ArchSD took part to represent Hong Kong, China in the Beijing International Horticultural Exposition with the 'Hong Kong Garden', which invites visitors to unveil the multi-faceted experience of the city. The project won the Best Contribution Award & Silver Award for Chinese Outdoor Garden in the event.

2019 Inclusive Environment Recognition Scheme

The Scheme is established by the Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities in cooperation with the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. It aims to recognise barrier-free buildings in the community and work together to build an inclusive city. The following projects were recognised by the Scheme during the year:

Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme 2019 - Inter-departmental Partnership Award

The Civil Service Bureau has been organising the Civil Service Outstanding Service Award Scheme on a biennial basis to recognise the departments and teams that provide excellent service and promote the customer-oriented culture in the civil service. The Inter-departmental Partnership Award is one of the awards under the Scheme, commending bureaux and departments that have succeeded in achieving notable service enhancement through collaboration. In 2019, we were honoured to have our 'Tuen Mun Park Inclusive Playground' project receiving the Silver Prize together with Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

Award for Excellence in Training and Development 2019

The Hong Kong Management Association has established the Award for Excellence in Training and Development since 1990. It enables individuals and organisations to be recognised for their achievements in training and development. In 2019, we were pleased to receive the Gold Award of 'the TEAM+ Training and Development Programme'.

Hong Kong Most Innovative Knowledge Enterprise (MIKE) Award 2019

The award recognises organisations that innovate in implementing good practices in knowledge and intellectual capital management. We were pleased to be the Top Winner of the awards in 2019.
